Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Morimantra collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It covers both the Morimantra web app (morimantra.com) and the Morimantra Chrome extension.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and a password. Your password is never stored directly — only a one-way hash of it.
Content you create.Goals, tasks, affirmations, daily plans, schedule blocks, and saved (favorited) quotes or backgrounds are stored against your account so they're available across sessions and devices.
Subscription status. If you upgrade to Premium, we store your plan tier (free or premium) and a Stripe customer reference so we can recognize your subscription. Morimantra never receives or stores your card number or other payment details — checkout is handled entirely by Stripe on its own secure page. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Weather and location.The new-tab dashboard shows local weather. To do this, your browser looks up an approximate location (city and coordinates) directly from a third-party IP-geolocation service, then requests current conditions from a weather service. Neither lookup passes through or is stored on Morimantra's own servers — it happens directly between your browser and those services.
Session data.After logging in, we issue an access token and a refresh token to keep you signed in. The access token is held in your browser's local storage; refresh tokens are stored on our server as a one-way hash, not in plain text.
How We Use This Information
We use the information above only to operate Morimantra's features: authenticating you, saving and displaying your goals, tasks and content, showing local weather, and managing your subscription. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the app.
Third-Party Services
Morimantra relies on a small number of third parties to operate:
- Stripe — payment processing for Premium subscriptions.
- ipwho.is and Open-Meteo — IP-based location and weather lookups, called directly from your browser.
- Railway — hosting for our servers and database.
Each of these only receives the minimum information needed to perform its function.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at privacy@morimantra.com and we'll process your request.
Security
Passwords and refresh tokens are stored as one-way hashes, not plain text. All traffic between your browser or extension and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS.
Children's Privacy
Morimantra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Morimantra evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
