Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Morimantra collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It covers both the Morimantra web app (morimantra.com) and the Morimantra Chrome extension.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and a password. Your password is never stored directly, only a one-way hash of it.

Content you create.Goals, tasks, affirmations, daily plans, schedule blocks, saved (favorited) quotes or backgrounds, and display preferences such as your temperature unit are stored against your account so they're available across sessions and devices.

Subscription status. If you upgrade to Premium, we store your plan tier (free or premium) and a Stripe customer reference so we can recognize your subscription. Morimantra never receives or stores your card number or other payment details. Checkout is handled entirely by Stripe on its own secure page. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Weather and location.The new-tab dashboard shows local weather. To do this, your browser looks up an approximate location (city and coordinates) directly from a third-party IP-geolocation service. It then asks Morimantra's server for current conditions, the forecast and air quality near those coordinates, rounded to about 11 km first; our server fetches them from a weather service. The coordinates are not stored, and the rounded readings are kept in memory for half an hour at most.

Background photos.Dashboard backgrounds are photos from Unsplash, loaded straight from Unsplash's image servers, which see your IP address the way any website you load images from does. If you save a background, we store which photo you saved on your account.

Session data.After logging in, we issue an access token and a refresh token to keep you signed in. Both are held in your browser's local storage; on our server, refresh tokens are stored only as a one-way hash, not in plain text.

How We Use This Information

We use the information above only to operate Morimantra's features: authenticating you, emailing you password reset links and security notices about your account, saving and displaying your goals, tasks and content, showing local weather, and managing your subscription. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the app.

Third-Party Services

Morimantra relies on a small number of third parties to operate:

  • Stripe: payment processing for Premium subscriptions.
  • Resend: delivery of account emails, such as password reset links, using your email address.
  • ipwho.is: IP-based location lookup, called directly from your browser.
  • OpenWeather: current weather, forecast and air quality, called by our server with rounded coordinates.
  • Unsplash: dashboard background photos, loaded from Unsplash's image servers.
  • Meteocons: weather icons, loaded from the Meteocons CDN.
  • Railway: hosting for our servers and database.

Each of these only receives the minimum information needed to perform its function.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at privacy@morimantra.com and we'll process your request.

Security

Passwords and refresh tokens are stored as one-way hashes, not plain text. All traffic between your browser or extension and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS.

Children's Privacy

Morimantra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Morimantra evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
